Just wrote a really long paper on immigration for a few hours stright. Needed a quick break so I logged onto Cleverbot because my roommate was talking with it at the time.

And let me just say, discussing theology with Cleverbot is way too much fun.

Cleverbot's latest comment: "God is a pokemon."

Lol,
so i herd u liek GOD??

Sadness and Despair

Mon Aug 24, 2009, 6:51 AM
So my first week at college has come to a close. Today is my first day of actual classes and I'm half excited, half terrified. Orientation week was fun, except for the past 3 day because I managed to get some sort of virus. Apparently it's common for kids to get sick early on because they're suddenly exposed to new germs and close quarters.

I'm really excited because the way I worked my schedule is that I don't have a single class until 11. At 11 is my first year seminar and then intro to philosophy, then sculpture. Tomorrow I only have one class, the History of Dress, which I'm really excited for. I've always wanted to take a costuming class. And it had better be fun too, because I had to buy an expensive new textbook that's bigger and heavier than my laptop (I've named it Big Sue).

The thing that I'm really distressed about is that since I am no longer at home, my big, crotchety old desktop computer isn't at my disposal. This also means that I no longer have Photoshop. I'm so sad! I never realized how much I actually used it; not only for my photos, but for everyday stuff like cropping and designing. I'll probably break eventually and buy it, but it's so damn expensive. I think I'll wait until more newer versions come out (I've been using CS3) so I can get it cheaper.

*sniff* I miss you Photoshop.

Hawk Update

Sun Apr 12, 2009, 10:27 AM
So we're still not sure what kind of bird it is. Hawk? Falcon? Unknown species?

No apperances today. It did however leave us a present.
It made a kill today.

It wasn't a squirrel - Mom is very disappointed.

I still didn't get my picture - I am disappointed.

But there is now a very nasty pile of feathers in the middle of the backyard.
Ahh, the beauty of nature.

A falcon/hawk/large bird has taken up residence in my backyard. It must have a nest nearby or something because I've seen it at least 5 times in the last 3 days.

It's favorite spot is on top of this wooden moose I have in my backyard (given by an old neighbor when she moved as a memento. I was 5 and adored it, and we've kept it ever since). It just perches on top of it, flapping it's wings and hitting the adjacent window in the process, terrifying our cat.

I moved some plants away from the window sill that were blocking the moose and bird so I can see it better when it perches.

I'm hoping it'll come back so I can get a picture.
Mom's hoping it'll kill some of the squirrels.
We're very different people.
